1949 Bentley Mulliner

About The Car

Another local car, a Huddersfield Bentley in fact, and now fully restored for Superior Motor Cars by Classic Vehicle Restorations. She is finished in Bentley’s classic, and understated, Tudor Grey over Shell Grey – one of the first pearlescent paints, made by grinding Mother of Pearl (Oyster shells) and mixing it into the paint. Have a look at the restoration photo’s.

This very rare coachbuilt Bentley was built for Mr Broadhead of Broadhead and Graves Ltd, Kirkheaton Mills. Broadhead and Graves rapidly developed a successful business with a reputation for manufacturing superfine worsteds. We are only the third owners of this magnificent car!

HRH The Duke of York visited the Mill in 1932 at which time he was presented with some lengths of cloth and, six years later, as King George VI (The King’s Speech), he ordered a further three suit lengths from the Mill.
